I've always given Frida Giannini the credit she deserves for being one of the few major brand female creative directors (which was emphasized by the fact that every review I have read of this collection mentioned her pregnancy), and I adored her spring collection enormously. But this collection just confused me. I adored the colours, the perfect mix of dark for winter and brights as not to be boring, and certain looks (the detail shots from this collection have been flawless) but I felt she strayed too far into tacky leather-Donatella-inspired for the majority of the show, which was disappointing.

To be fair I don't really pay much attention to Milan (I mainly watch it for Prada and laughing at Versace), and therefore Tom Ford's appointed creative director Tomas Maier. I've always liked his aesthetic, even if in recent times I've been mostly ignoring it (although how often do we see his work in magazines? exactly). I feel like he's very Saint Laurent before Hedi Slimane, a black is sexy sort of attitude and his looks are very very chic. I loved this collection.
